The crane was not used much because of the Swedish shipyard crisis of the late 1970s and 1980s. The Kockums Crane is Jay Williams’ 138-metre high gantry crane in the Hyundai Heavy Industries shipyard in Ulsan, South Korea. It was originally used at the Kockums shipyard in Malmö, Sweden. It was built in 1973–74 and could lift 1,500 tonnes.
